Crackgate. A contact email appears here once CONTACT_EMAIL is set.
Facts about a reported issue, not a person. Country and, if you give one, a city. The pin is rounded to about 10 km, or to the country if you skip the city. Model, storage, colour, purchase date and channel, protection, symptoms, what you were doing, and what Apple did. An optional photo of the display, re-saved so camera location is removed.
A report does not ask for an email address. The only email we collect is the one you type on the removal form, so we can reply. That address is not published and is not used for a mailing list. There is no digest and no subscribe box.
We do not collect usernames, names, avatars, serial numbers, or receipts. If a note contains an email, a phone number, or something that looks like a serial, the report is refused. Public-source cases store a link to the original post and a short summary. We do not copy photos from those posts.
User reports and public-source listings are kept under legitimate interests, UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f): a city-level public record of a reported issue, with a route to object or have a case removed. Where a case comes from a public post rather than from the person, Article 14 applies. This page, the case page, and the removal form are how we tell you.
Use the removal form. Say it is your case or your post, and include a link. We aim to act within about 72 hours. You can also email the contact address once it is published.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK if you think this notice is not enough.
Published user reports and public-source cases are on the site and in the journalist export. The export has no email and no proof of identity. Queued reports stay off the map until a moderator publishes them. A hashed network address is kept only to limit repeated submissions. The raw address is not stored.
Light or dark mode uses local storage. A moderator session uses one httpOnly cookie. There is no advertising cookie.
A published case stays until you ask for it to be removed or a moderator deletes it. A removal request, including the reply address, stays until that request is closed.
